Mabye they buy those because they don't know jack about engines or who to go to in order to have ur car worked on. o.0
it's a possiblility Or just maybe they want a car that can beat almost every wigger/ricer on the road without spending a fortune to do it? I would be surprised if you could find one of those cars you are talking about for say under 7g that can beat a tuned crx or civic or corrolla ... Which ZOMG you can do well for roughly 7grand.
OMG Hondas r the best car in the world you can easily beat a muscle car all day with ne honda and with a honda 2-3 grand will make you have like an 11-10 sec car I wanna see any musclecar that can say that there isn't 1 and all muslce cars do is burnout at the line while a honda will jus be gone with a little tire chirp and well still smoke muslecars on the highway hondas be gettin 10,000 rpms with a little piston work you can't get a muslecar to get 9,000 rpm hondas r just better deal with it :)
This is ridiculous... yes, CRX's can last more than 30 seconds... check autocross, check some actual racing, CRX's are up there...
Theres a big difference between muscle and tuner..
Muscle: meant to go really fast, really straight
tuner: more maneuverablility over drag times...
Sure you can get one to go faster in a certain category, but it comes down to how they're built... my dads '69 GTO is way different than my CRX... the GTO bolts and subframe and almost every other underlying part are huge thick pieces of metal... the CRX, gets dented when I lean against the door.
It all comes down to opinion... no one car is better, and yes... driving a CRX is exhilarating... it's a whole body experience, sometimes I have to focus on driving because theres no power steering, I can't even talk to the person next to me.
I just I got a crx si; I'm going to put a b16a. I bet you I will be shocking with this litle toy. I just spent not more than 3000. I'm going to have fun, but if your mom or pop could buy you a BMW or G37, it is all good.
OK, go spend your 10 grand on a camaro, mustang, vette, whatever, that gets 10 miles to the gallon. I will go and spend 1600 on my crx that gets 30 mile to the gallon and will also up with your car. Crx's have so much potential for so little of a package.
People buy big Camaro's and stuff like that because it has class and history. CRX's are a very fast little car as they weigh next to nothing, and with a b16a vtec engine they accelerate incredibly quickly. At the end of the day the crx will win off the line and out of corners etc, but will get smoked in a straight line.
I am also about to buy a CRX SiR (vtec); reason being that I can't afford a BMW or Merc, and even if I could I'd prob rather spend the extra cash modding something I really liked.
People, you need to check youtube for CRX's vs muscle car, CRX wins every time. Those driving a big V8 need to accept this and enjoy the fact they realistically CAN reach 250kms/per hr, but never will.
