The shift solenoids are sticking and need to be replaced at a transmission shop. Approx. $300.

I have a 94 Jeep Grand Laredo all time 4 wheel, and something is up with the trans. I'm too broke for a transmission shop, and it's wanting to take off when started, but the shifter shows Park. I can switch through gears and it feels like it's catching, but I'm sure it's stuck in Drive. Anyone have the answer to my problem or ideas???

Did you ever find a fix for this? I've had the same problem for years, but I never had a chance to fix it. It actually finally gave out altogether and has been sitting in my driveway for more than a year... What did you do to fix it?
