Could be mild head gasket failure or coil pack failure.

Hi, I'm pretty sure your problem is a dying battery. It isn't holding enough charge, and will soon die altogether. A new battery will definitely 100 percent fix your problems; the clocks reset to zero when the voltage drops below minimum levels, as it can no longer maintain its memory.

By trying to start it, you use what little power is in the battery to turn the starter motor, therefore causing a voltage drop throughout the rest of the system, resetting the clocks. Usually happens in winter when the cold temps kill old batteries.
