Hi,

I have the same problem. The fan doesn't appear to come on when it should (i.e. idling in traffic).

Did you find a solution for your problem?

Thanks.

I had same problem. Had to go thru the elimination process; checked thermo fan, bought new thermo sensor on radiator, then bought a new radiator, then finally replaced thermostat, which was a pain as it is behind the timing belt, so had to remove that. Finally it was fixed. The problem is it's hard to know where to start first. The radiator fan should kick in at 92.5°, not 100, as it may say in some manuals. Hope this helps!

Had the same problem on a 1995 Barina. Turned out to be the thermostat. Because the thermostat was not allowing water to circulate, the fan sensor never picked up the car was overheating. Changed the thermostat and it runs cooler now.

Hi, from what I have been advised... after replacing the radiator ($40 new) and thermostat... that even as not stated in the useless handbook, these cars run at 100. You can bypass the fan switch and have it running at all times... but mine seems OK. It goes up to 100 sometimes, then drops down to 94.

Regards, Mervyn.

My experience with an SB Barina 1.4. Found out 100-105 temp is normal... not a fault... It's not clear in the manual. Mine now has the fan running constantly, 94 temp... A good little car.
