We had a Toyota based Pontiac Vibe in our family that had the engine sludge at 48,000 miles.
I myself have replaced a handful of Toyota engines with the same problem, both V6 and I-4.
Is this a coincidence too?

I had a Honda that wore out the rear discs twice as fast as the fronts. By coincidence, I saw others with the same problem.
