As I own the model you are thinking of buying, my advice to you is NO, NO, NO. Had my one a month, and I am now getting the engine replaced to the earlier 4jg2 motor.
And hopefully will have a reliable vehicle. All in all, NOT a cheap exercise.

I know of someone who had serious overheating problems with that 3.0 model. Go for the 3.1 every time!
