"In the past 20 years there have been no reported deaths in FL due to exhaust pollution. At least not that I know of."

"A new study from MIT suggests that in the US, 53,000 people a year die prematurely because of automobile pollution, compared to 34,000 people a year who die in traffic accidents.

These results more than double the number of people who die in the US every year as a result of automobiles, to nearly 100,000."

Just because you personally don't see the results of automotive pollution doesn't mean it isn't happening. If you're one of the folks who thinks it's a great idea to remove the emission controls and equipment from your vehicle because you want to squeeze a few more HP out of your land yacht, then understand that the equipment removed serves a purpose and in doing so, you too are adding to the consequences stated above. Those are the facts. And again, it's about being a good steward. It's no different than throwing garbage out your car window... sure - ONE person throwing a candy wrapper out the window seems like no big deal. But just take a drive down ANY US freeway and observe the sheer volume of garbage clogging the medians. That's what happens when a lot of people do that. It all adds up and it's we, who try to do what's right, that suffer the consequences.
