Agree. Tire repair companies give the same excuse when it comes to certain patches they’re willing to apply depending on where the puncture is. If the hole is sealed, it is sealed. Some won’t patch it toward the outside of the tire, but some will. Can save a few hundred dollars in the process by avoiding buying a new tire with no real safety risk.

No doubt you can find someone who will assure you the "epoxy" will make a shattered windshield like new again. For that matter, you can buy a kit to (try to) do it yourself. Will it work? No, but apparently that doesn't matter... only that it "should be possible" to find someone who says it will.
