1997 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"The worst piece of junk ever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My transmission had to be worked on 3 different times, I had to replace my altenator, water pump, fuel pump twice and maybe a 3rd time. Ball joints twice upper and lower, replaced the radiator and thermostat. Also had to replace the fuel pressure gauge and the brake sensor and four way flasher sensor. O2 sensors multiple times. Blower motor went so I had no a/c or heat for awhile, then had the heater coil plug up and now the heat works again because the heater core is leaking and the water flows again, but created a hole in the line so all we can smell is coolant (Nice Huh). The 4x4 gets stuck sometimes because the button doesn't work right (I guess). This was all on top of the regular maintenance of replacing the spark plugs which were a huge pain (because of the steering box) air filters, wires and hoses. Brakes and rotors and calipers. Also, the Fuel filter!Oh and the gear box leaks so bad it needs to be filled every few months. Plus oil and transmission leaks. Oh and the windshield washer fluid leaks so I can't put washer fluid in cause it just pours out (not sure if it is the pump in the washer tank or just the o-ring around it and Now finally, but not least, the stupid thing has giving me trouble starting for over the last year (if you remember I mentioned replacing all that crap for the fuel system) well, I have to spray Mass air flow sensor cleaner in the air intake every time I want to start it, at first it was only when the truck sat over night and it didn't want to start in the morning so that's when I replaced the fuel pressure gauge, but that didn't work ($400 dollars later) now it won't start at all. I have to spray it and close the air cleaner cover and then start it (Nice Huh). Also, my window motor went and my rear wiper as well.
General comments?
I spent over 10,000 for this hunk of junk and probably another 10,000 trying to keep it running. It is the worst vehicle I have ever had and I will never buy another Chevy again. I would recommend buying anything, but a Chevy. If someone try's to sell you one run in the other direction as fast as possible. Sorry Chevy I Love America, but maybe ford will be better.
Thanks for listening.
P.S. If you see A Blazer on the side of the highway please help out another Blazer owner by giving them a lift to the nearest ford or any other dealership besides Chevy.
Thanks, Sad and Broke Blazer owner.
