1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme international series review from North America
"A Good design with poor engineering"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side outside door handle has broken 3 times.
Cassette deck has failed 4 times.
Key-less entry no longer functions (dealer says key fobs are fine)
Power Antenna replaced 2 times.
New tires, battery and serpentine belt 2 years ago.
Steering wheel controls replaced.
Electronic Climate Controls replaced.
All rear brake hardware and rear struts have been replaced.
Front brakes have been replaced twice.
Brakes are very stiff, and it's difficult to bring car to a quick stop. Several brake shops agree, but can't solve the problem.
Engine will shut off occasionally without warning, but restarts immediately. Again, no mechanic has been able to figure out why. All plugs, wires, etc have been replaced,
General comments?
This is a good looking car that drives well and has plenty of power. It has all the options you could ask for, including fully powered front seats, leather, and HUD. The car has had no serious mechanical malfunctions and has started even on the coldest days, but it seems to always have something that needs repair. This car is keep inside and isn't driven in winter. In retrospect, I should have bought something else.
