1996 Chevrolet Lumina Sedan review from North America
"She's a lemon, but you can always make lemonade"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket went on motor --- covered under warranty. (Redone/Replaced) Car had about 120,000km on it at the time.
Altenator replaced twice!!
Power Steering pump replaced once. (Although, no shame on it)
Transmission giving problems in the Automatic Power Drive mode. (D) Problem started at about 175 000.
Problem with Manifold. (? - Haven't bothered to fix it though, due to age of car...It's soon going to car heaven)
Had Front Control Arms Replaced (Problem with Rack and pinion), and rear suspension.
General comments?
Cons:
Car had a lot of problems in it's earlier days (Major Motor/Transmission issues). I stuck with her though, and "PAID" the price... (Parts are expensive)
Pros:
She rode smoothly and 'til this day she has her original exhaust (11 years old!)
*Probably would consider buying other Luminas (as long as I knew Motor was redone --- would be weary about considering buying one if it only had between 90,000.
