1997 Land Rover Discovery S review from Australia and New Zealand
"Cheap to run, extremely capable 4wd vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Injectors clogged and had to be decarbonised.
After market Sony stereo caused problems on delivery. This was fixed quickly, as the wires were around the wrong way!
General comments?
My Land Rover has been an exceptional car.
It's great around town, and I get great fuel economy around town, on the highway and off road. It's no drag car, however, but it keeps up with the traffic flow.
Discoveries are very comfortable cars inside, and are fabulous long distance cruising cars.
Vision out of the car is superb, and the permanent 4WD is great on wet roads - the car is very stable, even during fast cornering.
Off road performance is exceptional, but be careful of the door seals letting water in during deep water crossings!
