1993 Nissan Altima GXE review from North America
"I don't think there is a better quality car for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel Pump went, had to be replaced.
Brake pads and rotors replaced twice. (In 5 Years)
Muffler rusted through, had to be replaced.
Front struts had to be replaced.
General comments?
I love this car.
For a car that is nearly 10 years old. I have had basically no problems.
The Struts & Brakes were replaced at the same time about a month after I bought the car. I was a little upset about that, and repairs are not cheap.
Just the front: PADS+ROTORS+STRUTS=$1,000CAD.
But since then nothing, but the fuel pump went at about 140,000km.
The car drives nice. Sufficient power (No were near as much as my Subaru Legacy Turbo). I buried the needle on the Highway out here. It reached the max 200km with no problem (With 4 people in the car). I maintained that speed for about 10 minutes, and it was so smooth you would never know I was going 200km, Until my friend opened the window.
There is plenty of room. I have leather seats and the wood dash so it's pretty nice.
The A/C is as cool as ice. I freeze in the summer.
I installed an after market deck, Amp & Sub-woofer, but I still have the factory speakers and they sound pretty good.
For the money I don't think there is nicer or better quality car. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a good car for under $10,000.
One little problem is the cup holders. They are a good size, but they are right below the stereo. So if you have a drink in them, the top of the drink is right in front of the stereo. It makes it hard to use the stereo, and I had to replace my stereo because I had a full Orange juice bottle and I had to stop hard, and the juice splashed all over the deck and shorted it out.
