1996 Mazda 323 'Figaro' review from UK and Ireland
"A stunning looking car with great performance and handling"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
The shape is lovely to look at, much better then the new replacement model (which I think is ugly).
For a 1.5 litre engine the car is very quick and has great pickup. It is pretty economical too, if you don't drive it too hard.
Good to drive on the motorway, but does suffer from wind noise through the frame-less windows.
Comfortable driving position, although seats sometimes feel a bit too soft.
I love the handling of the car, its almost sports like and the power steering is not too light.
This car was very well specified, with Alloys, Electric Windows, Sunroof, Power Steering, Remote Central Locking, Sony CD Player, Immobiliser, Electric Mirrors, Alarm and Immobiliser.
What I don't like about the car is that rear visibility is slightly restricted because of its shape (but you get used to it) and the paintwork chips/scratches VERY easily.
