1998 Plymouth Neon Expresso review from North America
"Comfortable off the lot, but many after-market capabilities make for a show car/quick car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong yet. I did replace the timing belt early, to avoid costly repairs if it eventually went out. My friend who has a '96 Neon had to have his valves replaced when his timing belt went out while traveling on interstate.
General comments?
This car doesn't get any credit it deserves. It is affordable, efficient, and will run if given proper care. Chrysler is known for bad transmission problems, mainly automatics, therefore I bought the manual model, all I will ever drive is a manual. I have heard about the head gaskets blowing as well, but nothing on mine yet.
This car has some power too. Last night I was hanging with a 98 Honda Prelude. It was a 4cyl. I believe, it had to be. This kid got pulled by the police as I pulled a U-turn and went home to switch cars.
