1979 Cadillac DeVille Special Edition review from North America
"A luxury, gas guzzling power-yacht"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The drivers side window has fallen off-track several times, due to a rather wimpy stop bracket. I fabricated a bracket and that fixed the problem.
Otherwise, with regular maintenance, this car has never let me down.
This car drinks gas like there is no tomorrow. The best mileage I have ever gotten is 15/mpg, with new plugs, perfect timing, well adjusted choke, and a clean carb.
General comments?
This car has the smoothest handling I have ever seen. It can be steered with one finger.
It is very powerful, a pleasure to drive uphill or on the highway.
In horrible weather you can weight the trunk and plow through heavy snow like a tank while other cars are stranded.
