1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale review from North America
"Awesome performance and comfort!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The arm rest on the driver's side door broke off when I tried to shut the door. The front winndshield trim started to peel back at about 200,000 miles. The throttle body sensor went out at about the same time. The windows tend to roll up and down slowly, especially in the winter months. The engine typically reves up high because the transmission doesn't shigt untill the very last second.
General comments?
This car has been a very reliable car. It has been a great performer, and a great comfort to drive. At first when I purchased the car, I wasn't sure if I had really wanted a "grandma car". Once I took it for a test drive, my mind was made up. The car travels nicely at speeds of 65 mph to 75 mph. The car can really take a load. I took four friends, and myself on a 3,000 mile road trip with the trunk full of suitcases, and it pulled every hill and grade like the car was empty. I have enjoyed the use of this car, and would highly recommend buying it.
