1997 Rover - Austin 600 i review from Belgium
"The best there is.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I did a few accidents and that's the only reason things went wrong. I once crashed into an audi 80 in front of me, his trunk was popped open and bend, he could close it anymore. The damage on my car? Nothing.
The second crash was with a Renault Megane. The Renault was ready for recycling. My Rover needed a new bonnet, a front bumper and some lights.
The only problem I ever had was recently a braking problem. One of the braking disc's had a crack in it and it made a terrible noise everytime a braked.
General comments?
The Rover 618 with LPG is maybe not the fastest car on the road, but he can easily keep up with todays traffic (something my Nissan sunny with LPG couldn't)
The suspension is just perfect and gives you a comfy ride.
There is a lot of head and leg-space. I'm 1,98m and I still could grow a bit :-)
The noise of wind is to strong when you drive at 120+ km/h.
The automatic gearbox really is a jewel...it gives smooth gear changes and you have the ability to go back to thirth second and first gear.
I just love the Rover 600-series. The nice design, the Reliability, the performance (even on LPG),...
I hope I can still drive it for many years to come.
