2000 Peugeot 106 Independence review from UK and Ireland
"Great Run Around"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CD Player failed after 6 months, got a new one under warranty.
Engine management light came on start up after 18months. Was reset by dealer, never occurred again.
Small amount of yellow jelly around the oil filler in the winter months, disappears when the warm weather starts. Dealer said this was normal, didn't cause me a problem. But I did travel 40 miles down the motorway each day, so I would have thought it would have burnt the condensation off.
General comments?
Very good little run around.
Dealer recommends oil change very 2 years or 20,000 miles. I changed mine every 6 months (just to be sure).
Changed front discs to ATE Power Disc's, only cost £25. This made for a much more positive padel feel. Well worth the money.
Cloth on seats tends to show the dirt very quickly.
Engine sometimes a bit ticky with the old adjustable tappets. Not as bad as a Fiesta Tho.
Never let me down, and always started first time in all weathers.
Great handling around corners.
Temperature Gauge would have been nice.
Not enough adjustment on seats, made for a bit of a cramped drive for tall people.
