1999 Ford Puma review from UK and Ireland
"A refined XR2...a car for grown ups!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only thing that has gone wrong... so far is the plastic side cover which covers the drivers seat mechanism has fallen off.
General comments?
The car is very quick!
The interior build quality is not as good as it should be
Don't open the hatchback in the rain... you get a steady stream of water running off the hatchback and straght into the boot!!! poor design ford!
The rear view mirror sits too low on the windscreen and takes away from your overall visibility
When you tip the driver/passenger seat forward it will not go all the way because the headreast sits too high
despite all of the above points the car has always been reliable, goes like stink, is the best handling car I have owned and looks good!
I had to look at about 10 of them before I found one that was truely immaculate, don't buy the first one that you see... look around!
This really is the best Ford that was made
in the summer of 2003 I paid £7,500.00 for a 1999 model with ALL the extras... you might think that's a bit high, but there isn't a single mark on it and its only done 20,000 miles (barely run in!) and I got it in the colour that I really wanted;moondust silver I think its called.
