1995 Dodge Neon review from North America
"A cheap maintainer good performing economical wonder of Chrysler!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bad head gasket.
Timing belt tensioner failed at 180000 miles ruining all 16V on the SOHC before it was switched to a DOHC.
Bad fuel pump at 180000 miles.
Horn broke at 180000 miles.
General comments?
What do I say about this car? Its fabulous. If people really had a bad problem with this car Dodge wouldn't make the darn things every year in mass numbers...AND, there wouldn't be so many of them on the road! They start right up and drive great even through the beating I've given em. When they do break down, they do it suddenly and with warning... not suddenly and frequently. 10 bucks will last a week in this car! Oil changes are a cinch with a perfectly vertical and easily accessible oil filter. The interior is pretty bland... nothing to write home about, but the performance makes up for it. My DOHC 5-speed kills most compacts on the road. Every car breaks down...don't forget what your car HAS done for you before you condemn it!
