2001 Mitsubishi Galant V6 24 review from Sweden

"An everyday exec saloon, and weekend racer"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

As in other reviews I have seen here and there, I have to point out the problems with the brake vibrations. When I first got the car, the dealership offered me a 5000 km warranty, and after just 2000 km I already had to change all brake disks and calipers. Free of course. But having to pay for it is still fairly cheap, around 400€. The power windows irritate me when temperature reaches -10 degrees Celsius, because if you open them, they won't close completely because of the rubber sealing which of course are frozen stiff. But that's about it.

General comments?

Very nice ride. If you don't have enough cash to buy a Nissan Skyline, get this. In exchange it's cheaper, more comfortable and more powerful that a BMW 3 series, Audi A4, Volvo s40 or a Saab, looks better and everybody doesn't have it. Most often it comes with already mounted side skirts, spoilers and fog lights, and light window tint. The engine noise is music to my ears, I often turn off the cd just to "tune in" to the V6 "vroom".

The seats are very confortable compared to other cars, but keep in mind they are not sport seats. Sitting position is a little bet too high from the ground for me, but it makes parking a little bit easier. This car can be driven "limo style" (first gear to start, then put it in 4'th and just cruise) or more sporty, read: don't let it go under 4000 rpm, because between 4000 and 6000 rpm it really shows the benefits of having a V6 under the hood. It also handles great up to 180 km/h, even in freeway slalom, even though I wouldn't recommend it.

Another thing is that you don't look stupid in it if you wear a suit - think about driving a Skyline and wearing a tie.
