General comments?
Vehicle Stalls in heat in traffic, will
not start again until towed to dealer, where it makes a miraculous recovery and runs fine until I take it out in traffic again. The mechanics at the dealership can't even seem to pinpoint the problem.
Overall, the things that have gone wrong on the truck are to be expected with the exception of the current problem with stalling in traffic.
It still drives like it was new, when it is running good, although it always needed a more powerful V-6 Engine than the 3.0L.
The engine is reliable, it seems to be the other parts which cause all the problems. With 135000 miles on the power plant, it doesn't even smoke and barely uses any oil.
Mechanics who work on the truck often confuse it with the Ford Ranger, and not all parts are interchangeable.
