1993 Honda Civic ESi Saloon review from UK and Ireland
"A simply awesome car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing much - usual wear and tear items:
Exhaust back box
brake pads
tyres
New radiator (but due to very fast motorway driving over a considerable length of time)
General comments?
Best car I've ever owned! I really regret getting rid of it.
Handling is superb and precise - plenty of practice on the mountains of Wales with this car - took everything the terrain could throw at it.
The performance is awesome for a 1.6 - with the VTEC engine it's like having two cars in one - economical if revs are kept under 4000rpm - rocket car over 4000rpm. VTEC engine makes you feel like you're heading at warp factor 11 towards the horizon!
1st gear 40mph, 2nd gear 75mph, 3rd gear 92mph, 4th gear 110mph, 5th gear close to 140mph - will still pull in 5th gear at 30mph up hill.
Comfortable interior with nice features such as electric windows, sunroof and mirrors - excellent Panasonic radio/cassette and speakers as standard. Mine was the saloon version and had a more refined executive look over the hatchback.
A simply awesome car and I really want another one!
