General comments?
I have owned Audis since 1980. I have owned new Audis and used Audis, front wheel drive and Quattro models. I currently own four Audis and this car is my favorite of all.
This is the special build model with the 2.3 liter engine, rear disc brakes and digital dash.
This car is definitely the best of all of the Audi 4000 series vehicles that were produced from 1980 through 1987. I like to buy the last year of any model production because it incorporates everything that Audi has learned in manufacturing the vehicles. Being half German myself, I can understand their penchant for perfection.
Recently the original Bosch electric fuel pump expired and I had to replace it. I found a perfect replacement in the Pierburg electric fuel pump which can be purchased under the Hella name. It is a better, more quiet pump than the original and easy to install.
I highly recommended this particular model of Audi, especially if you like the 5 cylinder, inline engine technology. I will always remember the article that I read in 1978 when Audi introduced this engine. The article said that you could redline this engine in EVERY gear. That's a great engine.
