1994 Chevrolet Silverado review from North America

"Despite mileage (gear ratio), maneuvering, and turning radius, its the best vehicle I've ever driven"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

As of yet, nothing major. I have, on the other hand, have had battery trouble, due to corrosion of the terminals.

Gas Mileage, Maneuvering, and Gear Ratio (which goes with Gas Mileage) are the downsides to this vehicle.

First off, allow me to say that I love Chevrolet, and prefer Vortec over any other engine on the market. But I get around 15 to the gallon (overall) with a 4.3 liter V6 (with two and a half inch dual exhaust), which isn't too bad I suppose. Gear Ratio... there is little or no difference at all b/w 4th and 5th gears (manual), meaning that once you hit 65, you're not doing too well on gas anymore due to RPM's. : (, but as long as your RPM's are low, you're doing alright.

General comments?

This vehicle is very difficult to maneuver. Overall, it is a very smooth ride, but when traveling around 70 in fast winds, you can feel the truck being knocked by the wind. I bought it used with dual 2.5" exhaust put on it, and it sounds just like a V8, surprisingly. It was also raised a little, which could possibly tear away at the gas mileage (drag). The Vortec (whether it be V6 or V8) is reputed as being a user-friendly motor, and I have always heard "as long as you take care of it, it will run good as new", which I have found to be true (even with my old 93 blazer with the Vortec V6.) Vortec always exceeds everyone else as far as power goes, which I like, but in hand comes very poor gas mileage.

Turning radius is not good at all. I would even say it is piss-poor. It takes me a good 3 tries to park at Wal-Mart, which gets old. For being 10 years old and having 220+ thousand miles... I am very impressed. Stock Vortec V6 pushes a little over 200 hp, but with these pipes, and what I have in the engine, I am pushing about 300 right now (pipes mainly). LOADS of power.
