2000 Mazda 323 LXi Atlantis review from UK and Ireland
"Good handling, but choose the 1.5 engine or bigger"
General comments?
This car is nice and spacious with a solid if rather grey interior. It is the most basic model and the only notable equipment it has is heated body coloured electric mirrors and electric front windows.
Special edition Atlantis paintwork in a really appealing Ice blue mica.
The steering is quite heavy, but it handles very well. It can be fun. Though it lacks ABS and a passenger airbag, though I believe these became standard after the facelift for this 1.3LXi model.
The sound system is pretty poor and performance is lacklustre above 60mph, but it is only a 1.3. Oddly, its slower than my old 1989 1.3 323 carb model.
Very reliable and less bland looking than a VW Golf, even if the interior feels a little less classy and well specced.
