1993 Buick LeSabre Limited review from North America
"Reliable, and very save, as well as cheap to own and operate"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side rear window worked when it wanted to.
Driver's side front audio channel stopped working at about 90,000 miles.
Slight shake when in overdrive, going between 45-60 mph, with light throttle applied. Suspected torque converter problem. Started after a transmission flush at 93,000 miles.
Considered a total loss at 97,141 miles due to a bad highway accident. 3/05.
General comments?
I bought this car in 9/04 for $3000 with just over 81,500 on the odometer. Clean inside and out, no rust, new brakes, tires, and a recent tune up. Very much worth the money spent.
It was loaded with dual power seats, full instrumentation, automatic climate control, power windows, locks and mirrors, concert sound II, Dynaride, and very comfortable up-level cloth seats.
This car gave me no major problems, it ran perfectly, drove straight down the road, and was extremely comfortable to drive. Averaged just under 30mpg on a trip from Michigan to Florida, with 4 people, and a full trunk.
The suspension was nice for long trips, but it could have been a little tighter for back country roads and tight city traffic.
I do owe this car my life though. On 3/1/05, I was driving in Detroit, on the way to my cousins for spring break. Long story short, I got in a 4 car accident at 70 mph; everything front of the front wheels was gone, the hood was folded in half, and the radiator was on top of the engine, literally. The rear end of the car was also damaged considerably. I walked away with an airbag burn and a bruise from the seatbelt. The car was still movable, somehow, even though it looked like it got put into a compacter. Like I said, I owe this car my life.
I would give anything to have that car back, and I plan on getting a newer one soon.
