1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass review from North America
"Maybe I just got a lemon, but this car was constantly in the shop"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
After the car ran out of it's 90 day used car warranty the head gasket went.
A couple thousand miles later the power steering pump went. That also proceeded to flood the alternator and that had to be replace too.
At about 60,000 miles the struts started to leak and had to be replaced.
At about 80,000 miles the head gasket
went again.
85,000 miles the transmission was shot.
90,000 miles the alternator was shot.
Luckily I had bought a warranty from an independent company when I got the vehicle.
They paid out close to 5,000 dollars in repairs on this vehicle.
And no I was not taking this car to some mechanic that just took me for a ride.
Plus it is kind of easy to tell there is a problem when the car leaks antifreeze, oil, and the transmission slips and grinds badly.
Oh and make sure you know how to change your brake pads cause you will be doing this a lot.
General comments?
The ride of the car was very nice and it looks even better.
Very good on the gas.
Surprisingly roomy for being a 2 door.
