1998 Isuzu Rodeo LX review from North America
"Knowing that so many people are unhappy about Isuzu, I regret that I bought this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil consumption at irregular interval
check engine light on (EGR valve)
ABS light on.
General comments?
The check engine light was on before I took my car to the dealer for the five recall repairs, including the ABS recall. The dealer broke the water tank during the repair, which, according to them, is located in a hard-to-reach place for that requires hours of labor. I ended up paying the dealer $800+ for the water tank job because I couldn't get my car out of there without a water tank. They did not do anything about EGR, which I learned later from Auto Zone that it was due to EGR sensor. I had to spend $250 just on the part (EGR) at another shop, because I tried to stay away from the dealer. Are Isuzu parts more expensive than others? Now the ABS light is on, and ABS is activated even when the road condition is fine. I am afraid it's not going to be cheap, and I wish I got rid of this car a year ago.
