Well the tensioner problem is a consistent one with lots of people. Here are some of my thoughts. Think back to the Ford pinto. There was a problem with the location of the gas tank. They (ford) found that in the event of a rear collision the gas tank would explode, and it did happen. I don't know how many times, but ford was looking into making a recall for it and put a metal protector in between the bumper and the tank. So ford decided it would to expensive to do so, and they said they'd rather pay for the lawsuit in the event that people died, etc. Just so they can keep shareholders happy (financially of-coarse). So if your holding out for a recall on this tensioner, don't hold your breath.
