2006 Toyota VIOS G 1.5

Summary:

Good

Faults:

Recently there was a callback for faulty immobiliser.

Everything is fine, but I feel the fuel consumption is on the higher side for car of this size. I am only getting around 10km/lit. I used to get 15 to 17km/lit on my previous Civic.

General Comments:

Reasonably good performance and a bit nippy.

2006 Toyota VIOS Altis 1.8L

Summary:

I give a thumbs up!!

Faults:

1. Noise filtering is poor

2. Gear change when ramping up at slope is slow

3. Steep cornering feels like throwing out (may be due to the height of car)

General Comments:

This is a very good car. Very stable on highway. Good runner on highway, but not on hill climbing. The interior design is very nice and classy.

It has almost all the gadgets that Camry 2.4.

My top speed over 195km/h on the highway. After couple of race at such speed, I can still feel that the car engine is still good. Toyota is the 2nd largest car maker in the world. I am confident Toyota will become the world largest car maker in the world in years to come. Their model range can meet most level of class, be it lower class like VIOS, still meet the same high standard. This is the reason why Toyota can be such successful.

Over 195 KM/H...are you sure yours is a VIOs???

I think this review is about Toyota Altis, not Vios. Note that the engine capacity is 1.8 L. That's Altis.

Had this car for over a year now. Strangely, but occasionally there is an "irritating noise" coming from under the engine bonnet every morning after start-up. Local mechanics were unable to solve the problem. So this nagging issue remains with the car every now and then... sigh. I hope this is the last of the problem. Otherwise I would have to get rid of the car. Other than that, it handles much like an average car of this category, though not all that great either.

2004 Toyota VIOS 1.5G

Summary:

Good for small family

Faults:

My car trunk has given a problem despite that I complaint to the service dealer to fix it. My problem is that using lever to open the trunk door which I may find it hard to close. Using car key or remote control does not give me any problem.

General Comments:

The running cost is pretty low compare to my earlier Proton car. I will consider to buy Toyota from UMW Toyota if they can improve their customer complaints system.

Their service dealer always trys to point finger to other irrelevant problems such as car design or how I open my trunk using lever.

2004 Toyota VIOS G 1.5

Summary:

DASHING

Faults:

Simply no.

General Comments:

OK, this is actually not my car, its my x-girlfriend's car. I used her car because my proton was stolen. all the while I used the car, I found that it's a very nice car for young man like me. its very economic, handling (by toyota is always) perfect, and I really fall in love with this car.

BUT.

I think, its very feminin. TOYOTA need to do something to make this car a bit masculine, or worst come to worst, come with a unisex look.

By the way, it's a very nice car! buy it now!!!

Whether masculine or feminine is actually a matter of opinion. The older school of thought that males should be driving macho square huge cars just isn't valid now. It's as acceptable for a male to drive the excellent vios as it is for a lady to drive a pickup truck. That said, I fully agree with the comment that the vios is perfect. It's no sports car, but for normal driving, urban or extra-urban, it's perfect in every way. Other vehicle makers can learn a thing or two about it.
