1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 350 LT1

Summary:

A rush to drive, cheap to own

Faults:

The ABS computer was out when I bought it.

Not had to replace anything else since I've had it.

General Comments:

This car is mad. With the 6 speed manual transmission it is a pure blast to drive. With 140000+ miles on the the motor the thing will still bark the tires in third gear. It's amazing how stout it is in all the gears. Bad thing about the sixth gear is if you're not doing at least 60 miles an hour it will fall flat on it's face, but with a few cheap bolt on mods even that's not much of an issue. The things you can do to these things are limitless, the aftermarket parts are everywhere. For very little money you make these cars go well in the 12 second mark in the quarter mile. The t-tops are great in the summer, but be careful going through and automatic car wash, you car may not be the only one getting a cleaning. The handling is outstanding. Be careful gearing down in a curve though, the rear end likes to slide a little, but even that can be fixed with a little suspension mods. The possibilities are endless.

I don't agree with your statement about 1994 Z28's easily reaching the 12 second mark. Brand new these cars run high 13's and that is straight off of the showroom floor. Now a 1994 camaro came stock rated at 275hp. With 100,000 plus miles of wear and tear on vital components, you would be lucky to be pushing 250hp. Now I'm not trying to bash your views because I too own a 1994 Z28, but it is a false statement to say a few inexpensive bolt ons can put you into the 12's. You would need a cold air intake, roller rockers, 3.73 or 4.10 rear gears, 80mm throttle body, a short throw shifter, cat back exhaust, and good tires before even considering that a 94 runs 12's. Maybe this could be achieved by one mod, but this would have to be a supercharger. I say this because my car has everything above minus the supercharger and runs 12.9 in the quarter. These mods were nowhere near cheap, costing me around $2500.I just don't want people being mislead.

Believe me, nitrous/supercharger is a fantatic addition to this car. I know I am pulling 375+hp with my modifications.

Wow! All that power and fun for only $1,500!!! (price includes speeding tickets) (90/55 and jail bond 120/65)

Expemsive but worth every penny

1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Summary:

An awesome car for the price!

Faults:

The '93 and '94 Camaros haev a problem with water getting into the Opti-spark distributor system. A new one of these is $350 by itself. It can be fixed by modifying the drain holes in the bottom (don't attempt this if you don't know exactly what you are doing!).

The the rear transmission mount broke at 150,000 miles.

The power windows went out at 150,000 miles.

General Comments:

This is a great car! The 5.7 Liter V8 Vortec has easily knocked out Mustangs, and that's with the automatic!

The acceleration is constant and powerful no matter what the Rpm.

It handles very well, but if it's in the rain it must be driven carefully or it will fishtail.

The T-Tops are very cool, especially in the summer.

1. how much did you pay for the E.G.R. value? I have the same problem, within 1 minute after turning on the engine, the lamp of service engine soon must be on.

2. last week, engine stopped working suddenly while I was waiting for the changing of traffic light, there must be some problem, do you have this kind of experience? or do you know what is the problem, how to settle it?

I am in Beijing, PR.China, hope to have some information or suggestion from you, as there are less than 10 Camaro in this city. if possible, please send email to : sv94@163.com.
