General Comments:

I love this car. Handles great, got power, fastest I managed to go was 210 KM/h with 2 passengers in the car and still could go faster if the road was clear.

The fuel economy is excellent. it's 2.0 litre so takes me 666 Highway KM in one tank of (55Liters) and 500 City KM

Leather seats are very comfortable.

1997 Dodge Avenger ES V6

Summary:

It is a vehicle that Dodge can't figure out how to repair

Faults:

The car has has to have a new battery every year since I have owned it. Two have been put in it this year.

I have had to have 4 O2 sensors put in the rear end since I have owned it.

The car had to have a new fuel pump.

The car had a gas line that was leaking gas.

General Comments:

Recently I have spent almost $1000.00 dollars in repair and towing bills for this vehicle.

The car still stalls out and will not start at times.

Dodge can't fix the problem.

When I called customer service and asked for some assistance, I was told that the vehicle would of course cost a lot to repair because it was not under warranty. I would not mind reasonable repair bills if the car would run. It is sitting in my driveway, undriveable because I am scared to drive the vehicle due to the stalling and the horrible gas fumes.

I have a 97 avenger that has gone through 2 batteries in the last 7 months. The car also has started to have fuel pump trouble it will run fine for a few days at a time and then it starts acting up. Dodge can build nice trucks, but their cars are terrible!!

1997 Dodge Avenger ES 2.5 V6

Summary:

Dodge Different

Faults:

Umm, lets start with the power locks stopped working.

Then Dodge replaced the main computer because it wouldn't start.

Then one day after I got it back from them, it still didn't start, they said that it was caused by the fuel relay and I had to pay them to fix it again.

General Comments:

I like the looks, but unless the cost of driving it goes down I will sell it for half what I bought it for (even though I have only had it for 6 months).

1997 Dodge Avenger ES 3.1

Faults:

The windows whistle, the battery went dead 4 times in the first few months before they finally replaced it, there is a squeak in the engine, the windows rattle and there is an electrical problem.

General Comments:

Chrysler's answer to all the problems with this car was to give me the phone number of the State Attorney General's office. The service dept was exceptionally poor and there was no support whatsoever from the manufacturer.

My daughters Avenger has been a problem from day one. It's the breaking system, which, by the dealers own description is too small for the vehicle. Dodge knows this, and continues to "push and offer" this vehicle knowing of this serious defect. She had had it in for complete brake work every three thousand miles! Brakes have failed nearly causing accident twice. A very dangerous problem, and they haven't recalled because of it.
