1998 Honda Accord EX 2.3L 4-cylinder

Summary:

Reliable, fun, and roomy... what more could you ask for?

Faults:

The only problems with my accord have been very minor.

Several weeks after purchase the ventilation diverter door stuck and was replaced under warranty.

The drivers side door frame developed some rust under the gasket.

The OEM CD player has alot of trouble with CD's made on a computer.

General Comments:

The Accord has been a joy to drive and own. I bought it because it was supposedly reliable and refined; I have not been disappointed. In the 6 years I have owned the vehicle, I have never had to put anything except regular maintenance dollars into it. Although slightly noisier in the cabin than I wanted, most of the noise disappeared when I replaced the manufacturer supplied tires. The trunk is huge and the backseat is generous for a coupe. I would buy this vehicle again in a heartbeat.

1998 Honda Accord EX V6 3.0 V6

Summary:

Very Solid Car/Value/Performance

Faults:

Needs Thicker Brake Rotors because they warp to easy under heavy braking.

General Comments:

This is a great car.

Car is very quick and handles good.

I would recommend this car to anyone. I drive this car like a race car 24/7, the only thing that has ever happen to this car is the brake rotors warped. Since I have installed high performance rotors that problem is now solved. This is truly a solid car at a great value. Good Job Honda.

I am considering very seriously, buying a 1998 honda accord dx-v6. It has a lot of miles...170,000 to be exact. Would this scare any other Honda owners?

Thank you for your input...

Bought one new in spring of '98. It's an absolute dream. Fast (~130 mph) comfortable and fun to drive. It's got about 70k miles and I figure at this rate it will last another 10 years easy.

1998 Honda Accord EX

Summary:

A spectacular piece of workmanship and performance

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

This car handles beautifully and is pure heaven to drive. I bought this car "used" and it looks more like a new car than a used car. The exterior and interior are flawless. The only thing I need are new floor mats. The car is "loaded" and everything works!!! I can't say enough about this '98 Honda Accord. It's just as amazing driving around curves as it is on a straight highway. Love it!!!

I enjoyed reading your review. It inspired me in buying a 1998 2 door coupe Accord. It has 215k's with the 4 cylinder, and runs excellent. This is my first Honda. I've always owned a Ford or GM. It's too bad about the steel wheels; they seem to get pitted a lot.

Hehe, unfortunately not as good around the curves as it is in a straightaway.

The Accord drives like it's on a cloud. I LOVE IT!

It'll take you by surprise when you're coasting down a lonely road, and then you open the throttle, and you get a surge of VTEC V6 power.

1998 Honda Accord ex 4 cylinder vtec

Summary:

High luxury sports sedan performance

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car, but there was one problem with the check engine light. It was basically a faulty oxygen sensor that needed changing and the guys at honda eventually figured it out.

General Comments:

Beautiful, excellent car and I am a street tuner and I love it more than my integra. It's got power and there are loads of aftermarket parts available for it. Once again Honda I love you.

I have the same problem in my accord the check engine light is always on and the maint. required light is always on too. It has no effect on performance though. How much was it to fix? And has it ever came on since?

1998 Honda Accord LX

Summary:

Reliable, but no "kick" whatsoever

Faults:

Power windows have to be "reset" after an electrical job. Dealers thrice forgot it and I had to return to have them fixed. It's a quick fix, but annoying.

I had to replace the front brakes at 85,000 miles.

I had to replace the starter at 85,000 miles.

Dealer recommended an induction service at 93,000.

General Comments:

Generally reliable, but no "ummppff"

I feel the engine of my LX is too weak for the huge boat like body it has. It's hard to get a real kick out of this car.

Also, the car is really noisy.
