Faults:

General distances only.

Check engine light on dash at 80,000 km for emission.

90,000 km new tires (saved rears).

100,000 km tailpipe replaced (replaced 2 times again under lifetime warranty of same shop). New tailpipe approximately 150,000km old :)

First set brakes at 110,000 km normal wear.

130,000 km master cylinder replaced.

160,000km replaced right front wheel bearing.

180,000 new tires (saved rears)

Clutch replaced at 200,000 km.

Water pump replaced at 210,000km.

240,000 km replaced all 4 tires with an old set I had saved (have approx 60% tread life on them)

286,000 km and the left front brake dragging a bit, so I have to go attend to it (I love this Jeep and I would buy a new one, but they just don't make this model anymore)

General Comments:

The drive train has been exceptional on this vehicle. Though the engine has some blow by, it still burns no visible oil.

Emission tests have gotten better as this vehicle has gotten older; believe it!

The body is as solid as the day I bought it, though the paint is now well aged. It was garage kept 14 years out of 17.

The interior has worn like iron, after 3 kids grown to adults. It is still in great shape.

The vehicle still turns on a dime; best turn radius ever for parking etc.

Used this Jeep for pulling loads of firewood and hauling my boat, and the in-line 6 has plenty of power.

All in all, after 286,000 + km, this vehicle has far surpassed my expectations for its usefulness, and it still is going strong (Thanks Jeep)

Faults:

The previous owner did some towing and plowing with the Jeep, and a lot of the wiring is hacked up. Other than that, nothing is wrong with it. I have gone through the whole thing looking at every little detail.

General Comments:

This is my second Jeep. My first one was a 1997 Wrangler SE 5 speed. I loved it in the dirt and mud, but once I hit the highway, I hated it.

After that I bought a 1995 Nissan Altima 5 speed. It was better on gas and better on the highway. After 2 months with the Nissan, I got bored.

I just bought this 91 Cherokee Laredo 5 speed. Yes, it has over 250k on the clock, but the body has NO rot on it what so ever. The dealership I got it from says it has a new drivetrain in it (which looks to be true by the condition on it). I put a 3 inch rancho suspension lift along with 15x8" American Racing rims, along with 31x10.5x15" mud tires.

This jeep is great so far on or off the road. The inline six has so much more power than the 2.5, and the Cherokee is just better for driving with more people. I have not had the Jeep for long at all, but I plan on keeping it and building it more.

Faults:

When I first purchased the car it had 230xxx on it. Water pump went bad and the serpentine belt snapped the day after I had bought it. Luckily I had a warranty on it and these parts were covered. 20xxx miles later (250xxx) starter went out and left me stranded in a different city.

Headliner sags and has some holes, but for 16 years old its still a heck of a deal.

Rear power window motor is going out. it rolls down, but needs help up.

General Comments:

My Jeep has 250xxx miles on it. Everyone thought I was crazy for buying it with such high miles, but I did my research and don't regret any of it.

Gas mileage isn't too bad, I've had the entire fuel system cleaned and I get about 20 mpg in the city.

It's the fastest car I have ever owned and its great for camping.

Another thing that I love about my Jeep is that I was hit by a drunk driver one night, and in the end the other persons car was totaled and mine had a cracked windshield and the fender and hood were pushed in a little bit, but all of the lights still worked and I drove away.

When this jeeps time comes I will buy another one, probably from the early 90's yet again.

The jeep drives like a dream and even though you feel all of the bumps in the road, I'm usually the one pulling people out of the ditch in winter time.
