1991 Nissan 240SX LE

Summary:

Rusting spoiler has spoiled my good time

Faults:

The one really big problem I have been having with the car is the fact that the spoiler has nearly rusted through the trunk. It must be from the ten years the car has been out in the elements, but nonetheless, it has been a problem, I tried to fix it with some body kit repair items from auto zone, but it needs a bit more than elbow grease. Fixing that may be a slightly expensive endavor. Also the sunroof vent clip snapped and now the sunroof squeals. There is also a problem with the headgaskets, I am leaking oil like a mug, and that caused my belts to squeal when I turned my car on, that will run me about 300 bucks to fix.

General Comments:

I have liked it, its fun to drive, it sits low to the ground, its also a fun fast car. Another thing that makes it appealing is the fact that I am one of the only people in town to have one, so it is unique. Besides my problems I've loved it, and I'm in the marked right now looking for another one preferably one without rust one the spoiler, I've loved it.

1991 Nissan 240SX SE KA24DE 16v DOHC

Summary:

A very dependable and quick car

Faults:

The only thing wrong with the car is the front main seal leaks. It seems to help to keep other problems at bay, such as rust and rot. I live in the Northeast, which can wreak havoc on metal body panels due to salt and sand.

I replaced the spark plugs and tires.

The tires were dry-rotted and were the originals from the factory! (Original yokohama S-305 tires from 1991). Apparently I purchased the car with highway miles only, because the tires still passed inspection with the penny test. The car has some body damage from an accident by the previous owner, but it will be fixed soon. The front outer tie rod ends were getting a little sloppy, so I had them replaced and the front end lined up.

General Comments:

This is an very well built vehicle with high marks in the handling department. The car turns on a dime whenever I need it to, and gets Me to work everyday.

Each trip to work tallies up 150 miles, and this car does this daily and has done so dependably for the last year.

I wish Nissan would not have discontinued manufacture in the U. S of these vehicles. Who knew these cars would be so popular among the Drift racing community?

It's now been one and one-half years, and still running strong with over 190,000 miles on her. She still makes the daily 150 mile round trip to work 5-6 times a week, and gets her oil changed once a month. Upgrades include a cold air intake (gets me between 30-32 miles per gallon and gives it more pep), fuel pump and injector swap, and exhaust.

1991 Nissan 240SX Fastback 2.4L 16valves KA24DE

Summary:

The greatest car for both look and performance

Faults:

Nothing got wrong with the car except the Super Hicas hydraulics lines.

One line started to leak, resulting in a 800$ (CAD) for the replacement of the whole six lines that are under the car (since they are from the same age)

I did not have time to take it to garage so I kept adding oil in the cylinder...

After that, 2 months and 6 days after having bought the car, I totaled the car...

General Comments:

The seats aren't very comfortable, but they kept me from banging on one side or the other even when I was speeding.

The interior of the car is very nice looking, very neat even for a 13 years old car, but there isn't any place to put a fog-light switch.

The engine ran strong even after my accident, transmission too, they are very solid and the car is very quick.

I felt that it still needed some horsepower, but I haven't done anything to it.

The car looked like new and people kept asking me if it was new.

The Super Hicas (four wheel steering) made the car very sharp when turning, and to make U-turns it was just sweet.

The greatest car I've ever driven, but a bad luck decided that my pearl was going to junkward...
