General Comments:

First read about the great reviews of the Intrigue in 2000. Loved the body style. I test drove a GM program car with 29,000 miles on it. I loved it and bought it. Purchased an extended warranty also, but only used it for the rear strut that went bad.

The car has a stiff feel in turns and handles great. Even got the rear spoiler for added looks. The 3800 motor was smooth, had plenty of power, is one of the best power plants GM makes.

I run 10W-30 Castrol and change oil every 3000 miles. Car is easy to change belts on and brakes are fairly straight forward. I run Goodyear Eagles and rotate and balance them every 7000-9000 miles which is important for ride quality and handling.

It is a bullet proof car if maintained properly. It will run 70-80 mph fully loaded with AC on and get good mileage. A lot of feed back can be felt when tires, brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, are not right. Take the time to dial it in and keep it right and you will notice a huge difference. One negative is the poor design on the intake plenum that eventually leaks coolant and or oil due to heat around the EGR valve. Turn signal stalk is another problem area as well as the running light sockets that will burn up bulbs. Replace any bad sockets and you are back in business.

Great when new, costly later

General Comments:

I have the fix for most of the flickering lights/ ac/c issues that I always read about. After a lengthy process with an uncle who works for GM we completely fluked onto the solution. The ignition module for A lot of the gm vehicles around this time. It was a problem in the grandprix, but I guess no one told anyone from olds. Try getting the ignition module replaced, it really fixed all of my issues.
