Faults:
Well, to start out with the car drove fine for the first year. When the mileage on the car reached approx. 23,000 the Serpentine belt assembly/tensioner fell off the motor while driving. I was driving down a very busy road with my 6 month old son when this took place. The brakes locked up along with the steering wheel. I almost got into an accident and barely got into a parking lot. This was in the middle of winter on icy roads.
I have had nothing but a head ache with this car. There was a leak at 31,000 miles from the oil pan located at the bottom of the engine. Which cost me an arm and a leg to replace the seal.
Then again at 85,000 miles it began leaking agian. The engine shakes horribly. It almost dies at every light since 70,000 miles.
I am replacing spark plugs as often as oil changes almost.
The windows go down sideways and need once agian the power window assembly and tension bars to be replaced with is close to $600 a set.
The electrical system is shot. I had to take all of my interior lights out because they will not shut off. Although a mechanic fixed this once. The switches have been replaced.
The brakes are constantly needing replacement along with the rotors.
The gas cap on this car doesn't want to shut or lock.
The drivers side window because it rolled down sideways broke the interior door handle of the drivers side thus preventing me from getting out of the car on the drivers side.
The transmission has had to have several transmission flushes because it locks up on me and needed replacement at 45,000 miles.
The car dies while driving down the road with no warning the electrical system cuts off and the car dies. Unable to control the car barely can get it to the side of the road and have spun out of control once from this.
This car has had too many problems too list and the cost of repair is ungodly.

I also have Pontiac grand am gt, but the only thing wrong with mine is the window. I personally think it's a great car for the price you most likely don't do routine checks.
