2004 Hyundai Getz GL 1.1

Summary:

Expect less with this low priced car

Faults:

Have this knocking sound while car on motion with its poor transmission support. It was replaced free before with its warranty during the first 6000+ KM and the same knocking sound again after 5000+ KM.

General Comments:

The handling is good and the driving of this small car.

Except for the knocking sound and and noise vibration by the road which you can really feel inside which gives you less comfort.

Fuel consumption is not economical for this small car.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

SAME here... my transmission support was replaced twice... 1st on my 5th. km and again on my 14th. km. The good part is, its still under warranty... vibration and noise inside the car are expected, especially on uneven roads.

2005 Hyundai Getz GL 1.1

Summary:

It' s a good buy and a great performer

Faults:

Nothing substantial went wrong, as in nothing.

General Comments:

This car has a fairly acceptable engine power for a 1.1 engine. However, the air conditioning system which is also of Korean brand isn't quite converted in a manner that it has to perform in a tropical country like the Philippines. Air con power is quite weak compared to other brands as that of a Toyota Vios.

Kabayan, get the diesel. You'll love it. And they solved that problem with the aircon.

Kabayan, the aircon is now working superbly. I can say that its already tropicalized... The cooling power is an "A". It just needed to be used frequently to get its full cooling power going.

Thank you.

2005 Hyundai Getz 1.1 Li

Summary:

Fuel Guzzler!

Faults:

Nothing gone wrong or awry so far.

General Comments:

On a cleanly paved highway, it's a pleasant experience driving a this car. But once you hit a un asphalted concrete road, the car dribbles itself according to the shape of the small road crevices and rough concrete surfaces. The motion created between the tires and the road are transformed into vibrations that one can easily feel inside. This is not a big deal considering it's price. A driver can live with that especially on short distance travel.

With a 1.1Li engine, one expects a good km/liter fuel consumption rate.

This car can only do 11.5++ km/liter on the same route I've been driving my Honda Civic Sir where I'm getting 11.0km/Li consistently.

Maybe that you have only a 1.1L engine that you have to rev its guts out to get any performance out of it hence you are using more fuel.

It sounds like you picked the wrong vehicle if all you were looking for was economy. No joke, but my Dad's 91' Jeep Wagoneer gets better gas mileage than that (11 town, 13 Hwy.) and it weighs 5,700 pounds and has a 5.9 liter V8 engine. If you want economy you should look at a Honda Civic or a Toyota Camry or something, maybe even a hybrid?
