2012 Audi A5 SE 1.8 TFSi petrol from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Beautiful
Faults:
Tank flap filler broke/jams.
New clutch.
Does like a top up of oil, but I wouldn't say excessive, but do watch for that on these cars, both petrol and diesel are known to consume oil. If it gets bad, an engine rebuild is usually needed as the piston rings (among other parts) will be worn and the car won't pass emission tests and will damage the catalytic converter as well, and things get expensive.
General Comments:
Stunning black metallic two door Audi A5 sports coupe. I love the look of this car.
I didn't pay too much for it either, which for an Audi, is rare. They are priced reasonably right now on the used market. Look for a taken care of car - walk away from damaged or rough cars with no history.
But get a nice one and you will enjoy it. It is a great car to drive, and practical for a coupe, seats two in comfort with plenty of luggage space in the boot or rear seats.
1.8 petrol "TFSi" engine performs great and manages a genuine 40 mpg or more on average. Considering it's petrol and the car's performance (0-60 in 7.8 sec and top speed is over 140 mph), that's very good. I'd avoid the more complex diesels, but there is nothing wrong with those if you find a nice one. You can expect similar performance with slightly better economy from those.
For a 2012 car, it feels very modern. Interior has all the electrics you could want, and the seats are very comfy. The car is silent and smooth on motorway drives.
An ideal German tourer or fun weekend car!
