Same problem with our 2001 Buick LeSabre Limited. First rear window broke in 09/04 ($491 to fix - required replacing the complete elevator assembly - frame, elevator, elevator cable and motor). Yesterday the opposite rear window broke - went down OK, but won't go back up. Looks like it is the same cable snarl problem the other window had. We have 12,000 miles on this car, no children at home, and rarely even use the rear seat. Has anyone had any luck with Buick making good on this obvious defect? I can be reached at wingshot37@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Same problems with the windows. The left rear stopped working and we couldn't even lock it without reaching back and manually pushing it down. Both front windows in the winter time would inch down at a very frustrating rate. Alternator was replaced 3 times. Some kinda chip went out twice at $300 a pop. It also leaked when it rained or at the car wash, always had a musty smell in the car. The engine light kept coming on for no apparent reason. Other than that it was a very nice car that I really enjoyed driving and will buy another.

I also had rear window problem. I was able to order an after market replacement from Florida for $100 dollars less than the dealership offered it, and it has the reputation of being better than the original or dealership parts. I have had a battery problem, and also a intake manifold problem, which were costly, ($200, and $600 respectively). Right now my anti-lock break and traction light are on, and I will be taking it in tomorrow to have it diagnosed before I take it on vacation.

I have had the same problems. My two back windows are bein held up by rubber door stops. This is the only thing I could find to help or spend almost four hundred dollars. Not to mention the other repairs. I have friend with the same problem. She however, took her car and had a mechanic place wood inside to hold the windows up.
