I wish I'd checked out this car before I bought it. I bought the car for my parents after using it several times for long trips. When I bought the car in July of 2005, it had 28000 miles and had been garage kept from the day it was new and is still garage kept. The only thing done to it had been wheel bearings in both front wheels, done under warranty.

Since then at approx. 60,000 new air conditioning condenser, $1400, 68000 miles drivers side front window motor, and check why using coolant. The diagnosis was bad intake gaskets. Window and diagnosis cast $650.00. I'm an equipment mechanic and repaired the intake gaskets myself because the estimate to do that repair was $1800.00. NO WAY was I paying that!! Had to get a friend that works for GM to print off an instruction manual, because you can't buy one for this car.

Last week went to move the car, and I couldn't put my key in the ign. 110,000 miles, new ign. switch, $265.00, when I picked up the car, got 1/2 way home anti-lock light comes on, had checked, needs new wire harness and front wheel bearings, est. $1200.00. Now service engine light on. Only God knows what this is going to cost. Noticed after washing car this morning the paint is coming off the top of all 4 door posts. Remember, this is a garage kept car.

I understand that this car is now 8 years old and has 110,000 miles on it. What I don't understand, is that why the car I replaced with this Buick, is still in my driveway with 234,000 miles and and never had a major repair. It is ironic that my wife drives it while the Buick is in the shop.

Anybody want to buy a car?

I have an 02 Rendezvous. Have had it 5 months.

I have had many problems. The most recent being it want crank after it has ran a little bit. It acts like it doesn't get gas to it.

I hate this car, & GM should recall it!

I have had all of the same problems. Bought 2 years ago, blew a head gasket this morning. Traction control light has been on for 6 months due to wheel bearings. I am ready to trade this piece of junk in for a foreign car.

We purchased our 2002 Rendezvous about a month ago and man... NOTHING but problems. The day we purchased the car, we had it in to the dealership because the driver's side window doesn't work. We have now had it in 4 times. They've replaced the switch twice and the motor twice. The last time they fixed the switch, it actually worked for like 3 days.

Took the car in today for the key FOB (which stopped working during the second visit to the dealership), and found out they need to order a new sensor. We go pick up our Rendezvous and go to roll the window down because it's warm, and NOPE! Window is broken again.

Thankfully the window fixing was in our sales contract for them to fix, and they're fixing the FOB because it broke while they had it.

But after reading these comments, I'm terrified to even keep it anymore! It's too bad though, this is a nice car when it works! Guess we all know why Buick only made them from '02-'07!

I've purchased a 2002 Buick Rendezvous, had it for 2 years and had so many problems with it. If it's not one problem, it is another.

I had to replace the transmission for $1800.00, head gasket blown on me, wheel bearings were bad, springs in the rear are broke, brakes are always going out.

I just replaced the passenger side window tracking because the window slid down the door, and now my fuel gauge is stuck; it is not reading or letting me know how much fuel is in my tank.

I am so ready to get rid of this car; it is costing me just as much as I am paying for it.

Here we go again. I bought 2002 CXL, which has been a nightmare. First was the speed sensors, then it was the rotors, bearings, brake pads, tie rods. Now went to inspect the car; it won't pass an inspection test. The car looks great, got to get rid of it.

Sounds like general maintanence on wearable items.

We have the same problems with our 2002 Rendezvous that we just bought. The wheel bearings needed replacing because of the AWD disable and anti lock brake lights being on. Now the gauge cluster is going nuts, the security system acts funny, the door locks keep clicking, the lights keep flashing ...

What a piece of crap. I wish I'd read this site first. I will never buy another Buick or GM again. I know all cars come with problems, but we only had this 3 weeks.

Bought this 2002 Rendezvous CXL in 2005. Loved it for the first 2 years; roomy, powerful, nice looking.

It's a good idea to purchase an extended warranty though. Head gasket replaced under warranty, transmission replaced under warranty, tires replaced by dealer (guilt, tired of me screaming at them), steering problems at 94000, $900.00 AC condenser broke at 96000 (while on planned road trip $900.00, not covered).

Computer module for the A/C broke; not under warranty, 971.00.

Love American cars, but they have got to do a better job!

I have a 2002 Rendezvous Versatrack, bought it for 7000$ in 2008, in 2 years, I have put 8000$ on it, almost 100 hours of my time, and it did not work for approx 1 year in total. It is the most costly car I ever had, I will never buy one again.

I had problems with: engine, transmission, electrical, ABS sensor, 4wd, rear deferential, rack rail, radiator fans, A/C, not starting problem, and a lot more... Still have ABS-AWD problem, brake noise, engine is not powerful anymore and it costs a lot more to run.

Do not buy a Rendezvous, you will regret it.

2005 model, had it since 2007. 100,000 all highway. Trading in for Honda, power steering rack and pinion are going bad. Driver's window doesn't work and air conditioning fan is making a noise. Replaced transfer case.

I love to hate our Buick Rendezvous... Bought used off a lot 3 years ago in fall of 2007 with 100k miles. My wife and I were planning ahead, and getting a larger vehicle for space... 2 dogs, and some day children.

This vehicle has been the largest money pit ever. Being cold when we bought it, we did not test the AC. Summer had come... guess what, that didn't work. Started off for our early summer vacation, and all of a sudden, grinding and squealing from the front end. Brakes and rotors.

In winter of 2008, we were driving to in-laws for Christmas, and the heater went out while driving, and all of the wiring for it melted down, with the worst smoke ever filling the cab. Heater control unit replaced.

Battery went and had to be replaced. Even the average Joe can't replace a battery in a Buick Rendezvous. What a joke.

Head gasket blew recently in summer 2010. Stranded again. All shops in the area wanted $3k plus.

We were driving to in-laws last night, and it was like this vehicle was was taken over by something else. All interior panel lights/dashboard/radio kept going on and off. Headlights wouldn't work either. Had to turn on and shut car off a lot to get it to work normal. Scares me to drive this car.

Told my wife to take up my offer for a new "non-GM" car while I'm still ticked off. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. GM should be aware at this point of the problems, and be a little more willing to work with owners of the product. We will not be purchasing GM again.

We have a 06 Buick Rendezvous, and it is having the same transfer case problems! We have called Buick corporate office and complained about the problems, not only that we have had with the vehicle, but that everyone seems to be having the same problems. We are estimated to pay out of pocket 4,000.00; these people are crazy! I have had my car only 5 months! And owe 10,000! As soon as I get this fixed, I will be trading it in fast!!! Buick claims that they cannot recall the vehicle's problems because they don't make this vehicle anymore! And of course we all know why they don't, this vehicle is on the lowest of my list! It is by far the most luxurious vehicle I have ever owned, but I would rather be driving a beat up 80's Ford that runs great, than spending this kind of money every two months to fix it!

I had this problem, and found the problem to be where the fuel pump wiring harness plugs into the wiring system. The plugs were not water tight, and they corroded. Was still unable to fix it myself, but my mechanic was able to rewire it for a lot less than a dealer would have. Worked great ever since. I hope this might help you out.

My 2006 Rendevous CX had an intermittent starting problem for almost a year, which gradually got more frequent. No one could find the answer. Finally, while driving on the highway last week, the service engine light came on. I had the vehicle serviced and the camshaft position sensor was replaced. Apparently this affects fuel delivery at ignition. Now the starting problem is gone.
