People complain about these cars all the time. I don't know if it's just their bad luck or my good luck, but at 147000 miles just now things are showing problems.

My only question is there anybody with the same problem as me, as far as a hard slam when going in reverse, and a lack of some power in reverse, but no problems in drive; shifts perfect?

When I first got it, I had to have the heater core cleaned... seeing as it was almost 8 years old, not a big deal.

The driver side door pin had to be replaced. This is a known issue with the Blazer, Jimmy, and any other S-10 model.

Next was a check engine light; ended up not being anything as it went off randomly (twice this has happened).

Next was the service 4WD light. So far, still not fixed, but repairs are around 600 bucks or more. 4x4 switch and a decoder motor for the transmission... looks to be a bad wire/connection to the module... (wondering what that's going to cost).

Overall, this is a nice car. I haven't had any real problems with it. It seems that the plastic they use for the interior is cheap though, as I've had several things break off.

- 4x4 lacks compared to my last blazer (96)

- Gas mileage is worse than my last blazer.

- Get up is not as good as my last blazer.

- Dancing gas gauge at 68k miles - Fixed at dealership for $35 - sensor had gone bad inside the gas tank. Common occurrence among Blazers.

- Front ball joints at 33k miles - Fixed at dealership under warranty

- Recline handles broke at 28k (driver) and 40k miles (passenger). Easy fix at wittydeals.com for $55.00 for both.

- Replaced in dash factory AM FM CD when burnt out at 50k. Caused electrical shorts in the car's system. After replacement, everything fine. Went with new Pioneer with XM radio.

- Back speakers went out 35k miles, but didn't bother replacing.

- Had to turn brakes once at 78k.

Bought this new fresh off the dealer truck, and these are the only problems in 8 years and 83k of mileage.

In the last 3 years, I have only driven 8k miles on vehicle. First 5 years put 78k on as a rep on the PGA Tour. Drove to all tournaments east of Mississippi. Been real reliable and comfortable for a 2 door LS model.

Smooth ride and steering with factory tires. Corners well for a 2 door Blazer without a tip factor... believe me, there were times I tried to tip the thing!

Turn signal clicker noise goes off constantly, and is almost a torture device. Imagine that along with squeaks, rattles and thuds all going in harmony... Hell on wheels!

I have put 13,000+ dollars into this car (including the 5500 I spent to purchase it) and it still doesn't run the way I would want it too. It has this weird jolt that happens every time I reach speeds over 60mph.

Oh and heres the kicker, this car will not sell at Blue Book! Who wants to buy a car that eats the crap out of gas, and is constantly making annoying noises? Nobody! Thanks a lot GM, shows how much you give a crap about Americans.

Never... EVER... Buy this vehicle! I am sticking to foreign cars, screw American crap!
