Parking brake release cable was not hooked up from time of initial purchase. When I set the brake for the first time, I had to call for road side assistance to get it released.
Also, upon pick up of vehicle I noticed that there were burn marks in the rubber around the windshield so it had to also be replaced.
The transmission went out at 31000 miles and then again at 53500 miles.
This vehicle has had consistent problems with the transmission. Both times the transmission went out it was the same problem. The dealership fixed it the first time, but not with the updated part that was needed.
I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy 4X4, I would like to know if anyone out there has had problems with their transmission and come to find out it was a sensor or a small problem?
My truck has 86000 miles on it, and I have always driven it, and I am not a speedster.
I have always had Chevy Blazers which is the same I would say, and I only once had a problem that felt to be transmission related, but it was the catalytic converter, thank goodness I found someone who knew. The transmission shop said I needed a new tranny.
Now on this Jimmy it will move when I put it in 1 but it actually takes off in 2nd and onces I get moving it is fine until I reach about 45 miles per hour and then it almost acts like it is confused out shifting? It is not throwing any codes and I have checked the fuses?
Anyone have any suggestions?
I have a 2002 ZR2 Blazer. My transmission also went out at 54000 miles. I don't recall what broke, but it was 'sun' something. Chevrolet is aware of this (they have since bulked up this part), but have not issued a recall. When it went out, I lost reverse and anything above second gear.
Chevy paid 75% of the bill to rebuild the tranny, but that still left me with a $500 bill.
I have noticed a lot of people complaining about transmissions in their Blazers/Jimmies in recent years (my '92 is the reliable one!!!). Chevy, are you listening?
I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer LS that is on it's 3rd flywheel, and now it needs a new torque converter. The thermostat just went too. I have had nothing, but trouble with this truck thing since I got it.
Does anyone know what the procedure is to replace a torque converter and flywheel, and how much it should cost? I am being told about $3000 to $5000 at this point. I think I am being taken for a ride. Please help.
