1994 Chevrolet Lumina euro 4door 3.1 from North America

Summary:

Comfortable easy to maintain quick car

Faults:

The motor mounts ere broken when I bought the car (friend fixed) and the belt tensioner pulley was loose (replaced) other than that just the normal wear and tear.

General Comments:

This is a very nice car, handles really well and has very good power. I have had no problem blowing past people on the highway. It doesn't handle all that well at high speeds, but pretty good overall.

1994 Chevrolet Lumina APV 3.8 V6 from North America

Summary:

A great family van for the money

Faults:

I haven't had too much trouble with this car ever since I had it.

I had to replace the starter, door handles, battery, tie rod, brakes, tires, power steering pump, and the hoses. (mainly normal wear things)

The motor for the window is still broken and has been for 3 years.

Plastic interior starting to crack.

General Comments:

This vehicle is outstanding. It just won't die. I even hauled my 4.0 liter V8 Grand Cherokee on the back of it with little problems. I have always towed my 20 foot boat with it and continues to drive like a charm. Inexpensive and reliable.

I will always buy Chevrolet products.

1994 Chevrolet Lumina Euro 3.1L V6 from North America

Summary:

An exceptional vehicle

Faults:

Alternator replaced while still under warranty.

Transmission went at 120000 miles, but of my own doing.

General Comments:

Other than the normal wear on a car of this age, It's been one great Automobile.

Very Reliable.

Handles exceptionally well, especially in winding curves; a joy to drive.

The cost of upkeep and maintenance has been low considering the miles, but it still runs and drives today like it did when I bought it.

1994 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 3.1 from North America

Summary:

-High Performance beast-

Faults:

When I first got the car, I had an oil change and ran great up until the radiator bypass hose split and drained all the anti-freeze all over the exhaust manifold at about 117,00 miles.

The throttle body got dirty and the idle was getting very high on cold mornings, so I got the throttle cleaned and the computers reset to put the car back into normal idle mode.

General Comments:

This car has done me very well since I wrapped my Mercury Mystique around a tree in Feb. 2003. I have made a few modifications to the car like a performance air filter, and performance muffler on it. I have plans to buy new rims and get the front lowered, and make a few minor engine mods. to make this beefy 6 cylinder louder, and faster than any other Lumina on the streets. I figure I'll modify a car that nobody would modify. I don't have your standard Honda Civic, or Accord, I kick it old school with an American made Chevy Lumina.

1994 Chevrolet Lumina 4 DR Sedan V6 3.1L MFI from North America

Summary:

Long Lasting Car

Faults:

Rear brakes wear down too fast.

ABS does not always work, especially when weather is bad IE: Ice, Snow, Etc.

Constant problems with power windows, both switches and motors. (shorts in wiring)

Rear Tail/Brake light bulbs constantly burning out/exploding.

Have replaced many of the gaskets and still have oil leaks, in addition to a trans. fluid leak.

Pipe/Line from engine block to heater core corroded and spilled all of my coolant on the freeway. (passenger side of engine, runs down by pass. side wheel well)

Both lower ball joints have been replaced within 10000 miles of each other.

Loud noise from front end at speeds over 20 MPH.

Clunk on driver side when turning either way or accelerating, have replaced CV half shaft, outer tie rod end, and wheel bearing and problem still persists.

Rear view mirror has fallen off 3 times.

Gas door hinge broken.

I have replaced 2 alternators and 2 batteries... if you have one, prepare to spend about 1/2 hour replacing the battery if you have to. to get to the battery you must remove metal cross bar, washer fluid tank and metal battery braces. Royal pain in the butt.

Replaced Throttle position sensor.

Current problem with one or more sensors, Check Engine light on constantly and it is affecting my acceleration and idle, lowering my gas mileage to 15-18 MPG when I was at 21-25.

Lights (LED) behind Heat controls do not work.

Speed sensor is bad, MPH displayed on speedometer is not always correct.

Loud highway wind noise inside, especially from passenger side, water leaks sometimes when it is raining bad, doors freeze in winter.

Glove box is worthless...you're lucky if you can get a pair of sunglasses in there.

Door handles (on outside) sometimes stick in the out position.

Paint is cracked and rust is showing through cracks near rear rear window.

General Comments:

Overall good value if you don't mind a lot of little problems, replacing brakes every 6 months.

3.1 Multi-Port Fuel Injected engine is a good one, not as quick as I'd like, but it gets the job done.

Real smooth ride, good highway car.

Seems like it has been driven harshly.
