I own a 93 Lumina Z34 that I bought used in 2000. The clearcoat is coming off my hood.

Will a GM 350ci engine fit into a 92 Z-34 engine well without reshaping it?

I may only be 17, but I bought my 1993 Lumina Z34 two years ago. It is a great car and not very seen around town. I have had some electrical problems, brake problems, my A/C is shot, but it is very fast and still turns heads. I love my factory stereo and the loud exhaust. The acceleration is incredible and it handles very well. I love this 9 year old car, but I wish they made cool accessories for it.

June 30th 2002.

I purchased my 1993 Lumina Z34 1 month ago. The acceleration is unbelievable. Though it only has 75,000 miles on it and I got it at a steal for 3860.00.For a car originally designed to have 275horsepower it is still impressive for only having 210 horsepower. I have already got some wins in it. It is definitely a head turner. The paint is spotless and shiny, almost looks wet. The only thing that annoys me is there is hardly any after-market hi performance bolt ons. The only way to get horses is to give it Nitrous, K&N filter, high flow converter and exhaust, and computer chip upgrade. Other than that good luck. My car is my baby, but it gets put to the test when someone tries her. And with those upgrades you will be lucky to get 10 to 20 extra horses unless you are a brave soul and add Nitrous.

My name is Jeff. I am 18 years old and own a 1993 Lumina Z34. I bought it last year with 54,000 miles on it for $6500. I love this car. I too am upset about the lack of after-market products for it, but it is still an amazing car. When you need it to it can take down most of those hopeless imports that you see everywhere you go. If anybody out in Internet land has any suggestions on what I can do to make my car have a more throatier noise or perform better e-mail me at DrexDragons@aol.com. Have fun riding!

I just purchased a 1993 Lumina Z34, and I am amazed at how it handles. It literally hugs the road, and the looks are still sharp. I love those ground effects and hood vents! I just wish it didn't have those plastic lights! Can I get those replaced with glass? Any help, please contact me at mmartinez@discmakers.com.

Thanks!

I am 19 and I bought my 94 Z34 3 years ago with 50,000 miles on it, I truely love my car for the way it handles and the power that it puts out, the only complaints that I have about my car is how there is no cup holders in it, the brakes have too many problems, and the cost to repair the timing belt and alternator. The Z34 definitely will blow most of the imports away no problem.

I recently bought a '92 Z 34 with 129000km (Canadian), about 78000 miles. I love the cars' performance and looks. I have a 5 speed, and I wonder how rare this option is. I have only seen one other around, and only heard of a few others on the internet. This transmission is mostly great, except, second gear will grind a little under hard acceleration (full clutch). The slave cylinder was just replaced, and the transmission shop could find no problem. Any suggestions? Otherwise the car is a great compromise between performance and fuel economy/drivability.

I have had my z34 for about months. I have been trying to customize it a little. But the big thing that I am trying to find are some tail lights that I can replace the stock ones with. Has any body found any or have any information on how I can get some. If can help me I would appreciate it.

You can e-mail any thing you find at wantsome10@hotmail.com.

I have 2 Z34's. An original auto 91 that I put the 5 speed from a 92 GTP (3.4DOHC, not the supercharged L67), and an original 5 speed 92.

I got the 91 with 89k miles, and it is at 147k miles now. I have only put 2k miles on the 92 since I have had it because 1. It came from Texas and I am not about to ruin the body with the winter weather we have up here in Indiana, and 2. The throwout bearing went bad.

I am the mechanic type, so there has been nothing that the old Z (the 91) has thrown at me that I couldn't tackle (i.e. alternator, timing belt, brakes).

The 91 started out as a replacement for my old Prelude that threw a rod out the side of the block. Then I met someone that was into the performance for the LQ1 (3.4 DOHC engine RPO code) as I was. He runs www.60degreev6.com. We have tinkered with a few things on the 91, like port & polish the heads, lower intake, and mess with the throttle body some. We have also messed with cam timing, since our pulleys are not keyed, therefore cam timing has infinite settings.

I was rear ended in the 91 less than 1k miles after the 5 speed swap, and that is where I got the money to get the 92. Ben and I estimate that the 91 is running around 260hp at the crank, and will run the 1/4 in the high 14's.

For anyone interested in general maintenance on the DOHC, or performance, do yourself a favor and visit www.60degreev6.com if you haven't.

If you want to email me about anything, my email address is pocket-rocket@60degreev6.com.

Hey, I too own a 1994 Chevy Lumina 3.1 V6, and I was just wondering what people have for miles on theirs... I want mine to last, but I've got a lot of miles on it. (151,000) but with the engine, I hope it lasts... I love mine and bought it used only a couple weeks ago, but it is extremely smooth and fast and looks brand new for a 11 year old car...;-) so, how many miles do you all have? Do you know when they generally die??

28th Mar 2004, 16:24

I own a '93 Lumina sedan. Are there any aftermarket parts like euro light covers or body kits that I can get? I was also wonder if I could fit in a 350C.I. motor or a different small block v8. email dr_dude_drew@hotmail.com if you have anything. thanks.

Hi, my name's Dillon and I'm 16 years old. I just bought a front wheel dive 3.4L 1991 Chevy Lumina Z34...

I was just wondering; when we tried to start it today, smoke came out of the steering wheel; not a lot, just 1 time.

I figured it was cause the car hadn't been started for a couple of years, but just in case, maybe someone could tell me what would cause that...

Also, I can't drive the car yet cause of money issues. I wanted to know what kind of power this car puts out, and what I could do to it to make it run better and faster.

Also if you have any websites for accessories, please get back to me.
