"Great for an old pickup truck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I got it a little beat up, my dad's owned it for 11 years so it's in really good shape for 13 years.

The air conditioning doesn't work anymore. It costs too much to fix, however.

The seats are a little worn, but overall they're fine.

The tape-player has issues occasionally. It doesn't play all the tapes I put in it, but most play fine.

It never ran well on regular gas. And, it only gets about 16 miles to the gallon.

It leaks oil. It's gotten worse with time.

General comments?

The seats are a little uncomfortable, I've noticed. They're the bench seats, though. My father got the truck special with them though, because of my brother and sister and I.

The king cab leaves enough room in the back for three people without being squished like in a lot of cars. It's actually nice back there, though it can be uncomfortable for long periods of time.

There are no cup holders. That drives me nuts.

It actually steers really well, once you get used to the steering. Newer cars have tighter steering, but this truck is 19 feet long.

Speaking of which, the truck is long. It has an 8 foot bed, which is awesome for carrying loads of sand, or ladders, or other equipment. Bringing home our new tractor-mower from Home Depot was nothing for the truck.

It didn't get any rust until it spent this past winter outside. 13 years is a long time to go without any rust.

It's only been in the shop a few times: for an oil leak, brakes, and always for oil changes. But hey, it's normal maintenance. Nothing special or drastic, anyway.

For an old vehicle, it does really well with speed. It's ideal speed is about 70. But it does 80 on the highway perfectly fine. Personally, I've gone much faster, and it has no issues.

Overall, I really enjoy this truck. The only real bad point I can find, the oil leak aside, is the gas mileage. It's old - I might get 16 miles to the gallon, on a good day. I only get 13 in the winter.

Oil leak is either oil sending unit (probably) or valve cover gasket, either way is a $10 fix.
