1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXI 2.5L from North America

Summary:

F***ing awesome

Faults:

I think my speakers are blown, but that's kinda on me, but I'd jump in it tonight if I could, and plug my phone up and blare some music with this stereo to aux thing.

It's an import with candy apple paint on it and it's gorgeous.

I wonder what the legit price for it is? Kelly Blue Book seems non legitimate to me.

Oil lights been on, but I haven't really taken it on big trips. I'm young, so I kinda just linger in my own little town.

There's a tail light that's out, but that's one of two lights on that side of the car.

The passenger door doesn't actually lock and it seems like a fresh vehicle. It's been garage kept up until I first got it in 2016.

I really haven't used it at all; if anything I do my best to avoid having to jump in my whip.

You wonder what the legit price for it is?

Try something less than four figures.

You might want to get that oil light looked into...

1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible LX from North America

Summary:

Love it

Faults:

I love my car and don't want to get rid of it, but I need my convertible to work, and since last year I can't get it to work; something with the hydraulics, or that's what they say. You can see in between the door when the top is down, and when you try to get the top up, liquid shoots out. They said they called the dealer, and they don't have or won't have them any more.

I am not happy. My car is all I have to make me happy. I can't keep pushing it down and finding someone to help me pull it up... I am just starting social security, and can't afford a new car, and am afraid to buy a used one, due to all the bad reports on this car. But I NEED my convertible... have no family here to help, or I would do it myself, search junk yards.

I'm just a sad old hippy lady, stuck in Florida with no convertible...

Wow, that's the most depressing account I've heard in months.

1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JXI 2.5L V6 from North America

Summary:

It's got its problems, but it's cheap and runs fast

Faults:

Well in the short time I have owned this car, I've had the brakes replaced, the oil changed, and replaced the gas cap. I've been told the inner tie rods could be a problem, but will likely last a while.

Upon buying this car, there was plenty wrong with it. Beside the brakes and tie rods, it leaks fluids. The leather seats are fairly ripped in the front and somewhat in the back, and the buckles in the back seat are under the seat, which isn't easily removed.

The drivers side window gets stuck rolling down near the bottom, but a nice whack will make it go down. There is a slight leak in the rubber door lining during rain, but only seems to occur when the car is stopped.

When the car is not running, using the power locks will cause the car to go into anti-theft mode, not allowing you to drive until you hit the red button on the remote.

I bought the car knowing most of this.

General Comments:

All of that being said, I bought this car for $400 from a family member. Despite all of this, I love this car, at least during summer months. As an 18 year old student just about to start college, it's a great car to show off to friends and peers. This thing was drivable from the start and starts on one try. The stereo is solid. No problems with the convertible top.

For the price I bought it, this is a great car. The engine and battery were replaced before I bought it, so the engine has less than 100k on it. Being that I've only driven 3 cars, this is the fastest one I've driven. For $400, this thing flies.

I have non-leather seats ready to be put in, taking care of the ripped seats problem.

My ratings are a bit harsher, but a bit more realistic than my own opinion.
