1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LX Coupe V6 from North America

Summary:

I wish that Chrysler would have made this vehicle more comfortable for larger people

Faults:

My 2 front hubcaps are peeling--worse and worse each time the vehicle is washed.

Drivers Side Door Handle broke for no apparent reason. The dealer told me it was because it was made of plastic and also said that they had replaced many.

Black Oozing stuff seems top be leaking out of both doors.

General Comments:

This is a very small car, not meant for tall people like myself. This car has very small seat belts.

I am very disappointed that the tilt wheel doesn't adjust very high.

The hubcaps appear to be very cheap.

You must be careful when pulling in a garage or parking space due to the fact that the front end sticks out so far.

I looked into buying a keyless remote, would cost me 90.00...Whoa! that's a lot compared to my wife's 04' Rendezvous.

Seat belt extenders cost 25.00!

This car was not designed well and I most definitely regret purchasing it!

My sebring also oozes that black stuff in the summer months.

I came to this website hoping to find advice on stopping it.

It's really thick tar like stuff.

Anyone know how to stop it and/or how to get it off?

1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LX V6 from North America

Summary:

I don't believe the 99' Sebring is everything I was lead to believe

Faults:

I have had a lot of flat tires with the rims, especially in the front. I have to put air put in the front tires at least once a week.

The front end squeaks like an old truck. The sway bar that has an encased bushing needs a crow bar taken to it about every 6 months. Mechanic says the lube inside the casing goes to the bottom and whatever is squeaking doesn't have any lube on it. He's adjusted it so many times now that he can usually fix it in about 1/2 hr.

General Comments:

The 99 Sebring 2-door seems to be built for women and small people. I can't talk people into taking my car when we go places. They complain that it is too hard to get in and out of. If you are 6ft 2" your head will hit the ceiling.

There is a lot of road noise.

1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LXI 6 Cylinder from North America

Summary:

A real head turner!

Faults:

The only negative thing I experienced with my Sebring was the front brake rotors. They are manufactured to turn only once. I had to replace them both @ 40,000 miles. Not a real big deal.

General Comments:

This car is a very nice ride. I leased it for business trips and never got tired of driving it. In fact, it's almost too comfortable due to the fact that I never wanted to get out of it. The stereo system is something you'll want to keep and not replace with some after market brand. The engine was the best feature of all. I could kick it in @ 100 MPH and all it would do is go, go, go! I had it up to 130 MPH and was utterly amazed @ the smoothness of the handeling and the endless powerful torque. In my opinion, Chrysler has the best looking vehicles available in the market.

I have a 1996 Chrysler and I like it. The interior is leather and it is comfortable. I have only gone 105mph in my car and the ride was amazing. it is so comfortable and you don't even feel the little bumps in the road. My car goes 150+ but I think right now 105 is all I'm doing.

1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LXi from North America

Summary:

Horrible-not worth a penny

Faults:

Since I have bought this car, the panel on the passenger side has fallen up 4 times, I have had black glue leak from both doors 4 times, my tires are always low in air, the steering wheel goes side to side and pulls very hard to the right as well. Basically, once I hit about 24,000 (close to the warrany- how convenient) things just started breaking. Now I have to fix the front brakes and I have coolent leaking. All at 25,000 miles! I will never ever buy a Chrysler again.

General Comments:

I will never buy Chrysler again. The same problems happen with all Sebrings and they don't care. THe dealer charges an arm and leg to fix the simplest thing. At 25,000 miles, I should have nothing wrong it. I am scared to see what else will need to be fixed within the next year. BEWARE- NEVER BUY FROM CHRSYLER- EVER!!!

I recently purchased a 1999 Chrysler Sebring and must say it is a pretty car. The side panel fell off once. I hope this is the only time that it happens. I did have the side molding replaced and there is no water coming in when I go to the car wash. I could live with these problems and plan to keep my car as long as it runs.

There is one other problem I wish Chrysler paid as much attention to comfort as they did to the style of the vehicle. Maybe, the new Sebring is comfortable, I will never find out since I would probably not buy another one.
